Our Infrastructure, Power & Energy team advises clients on transformative projects across sectors such as renewable energy, utilities, transportation, oil & gas, and public-private partnerships. As we expand, we are looking for a visionary Partner to co-lead this team and further establish the Firm as a market leader in these sectors.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal professional with a strong track record in infrastructure, power, and energy law and practice. As of-counsel in this practice group, you will work on a flexible basis with other Partners on landmark transactions and help clients to navigate the complex legal and regulatory landscape of infrastructure, power, and energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional Leadership: Provide senior-level legal advice and strategic guidance on complex infrastructure, energy, and project finance matters, including public-private partnerships (PPPs), renewable energy projects, and cross-border transactions.
- Client Management: Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, including private sector entities, international investors, and government agencies, ensuring their legal and commercial objectives are met.
- Practice Development: Collaborate with partners and other senior team members to expand the firm’s footprint in infrastructure, power, and energy law. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives and represent the firm in conferences and industry events.
- Team Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to associates and junior lawyers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
- Business Development: Play a pivotal role in growing the practice by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and responding to RFPs and other proposals.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Legal Expertise: 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, energy, or project finance law gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team. Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and commercial drivers within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Transactional Acumen: Demonstrated success in leading high-value, complex infrastructure or power transactions, particularly in renewable energy, transport, utilities, or oil and gas projects.
- Client-Focused: Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering tailored legal solutions that align with clients’ strategic goals.
- Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and global offices.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Strong leadership skills with a commitment to mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture.
- Qualifications: Qualified to practice law in one or more jurisdictions. Strong academic credentials and excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
