Our Infrastructure, Power & Energy team advises clients on transformative projects across sectors such as renewable energy, utilities, transportation, oil & gas, and public-private partnerships. As we expand, we are looking for a visionary Partner to co-lead this team and further establish the Firm as a market leader in these sectors.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned legal professional with a strong track record in infrastructure, power, and energy law and practice. As a Partner in this practice group, you will work with other Partners to shape its strategy, work on landmark transactions, and mentor a high-performing team. You will also collaborate with clients, both in private and public sectors, to navigate the complex legal and regulatory landscape of infrastructure, power, and energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

Practice Leadership:

  • Lead, develop, and grow the Infrastructure, Power & Energy practice into a market-leading division.
  • Establish the firm as a go-to advisor on high-value infrastructure, power and energy transactions.

Client Engagement & Business Development:

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with major stakeholders, including governments, multinational corporations, developers, and financial institutions.
  • Develop innovative legal and commercial solutions to support clients’ strategic objectives.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including thought leadership (speaking engagements, publishing articles, etc.), industry events, and new client acquisition.

Transactional Excellence:

  • Provide sophisticated legal advice on infrastructure financing, project development, public-private partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead negotiations on large-scale infrastructure and energy deals, often involving complex financing structures and cross-border elements.

Team Development:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing, collaborative team of associates and counsel.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, diversity, and client-focused excellence.

Firm Strategy & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other practice groups) to deliver seamless, multi-disciplinary solutions.
  • Contribute to the firm’s strategic goals, including market positioning, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Technical Qualifications

Legal Expertise:

  • LL.B or equivalent legal qualification from a recognized institution; admitted to practice law in one or more jurisdictions. An LL.M is preferable but not mandatory where candidate can demonstrate significant practice experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, with significant exposure to infrastructure, energy, and power projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and close complex transactions, including project financing, regulatory matters, and cross-border deals.

Business Acumen:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute business development strategies in the infrastructure and energy sectors.
  • A strong network of industry contacts and a track record of building a sustainable client portfolio.

Leadership Skills:

  • Experience managing and mentoring teams to achieve high performance.
  • A forward-thinking leader with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
  • Innovative Problem Solver
  • Ability to deliver commercially driven, innovative, and practical legal solutions tailored to client needs.

Global Perspective:

  • A strong understanding of international infrastructure and energy markets, regulations, and emerging trends (e.g., renewable energy and sustainability initiatives).
